Description

We Africans in America have been socially engineered to reject our past, and far too may of us live in a state of suspended animation. We deny the historical realities confronting us daily. Too many of us mistakenly believe that the past has no bearing on the present and is unrelated to the future. Thus, we have been conditioned to live our lvies disconnected from cultural values, principles, and ideals essential for peaceful living.

This publication is designed for persons who earnestly desire knowledge that will lead to a change in consciousness. it is hoped that the contents of this publication will be embraced in the true spirit of Harambee and Sankofa. This book proposed to teach Africans in America how to pull together collectively and reclaim our past in order to build a meaningful future for ourselves and our descendants.

Survival Strategies For Africans in America was written specifically to help “recovering Negroes,” and former “black people” become “Born Again Africans.” It is meant to inform and not to offend. It consists of useful information that when dutifully applied, will allow us to break free of the invisible bonds of oppression which were designed to stymie our mental, physical, and spiritual development and to prevent us from becoming self-determining people.

Self-determination is a natural by-product of self-awareness, and together they form the mental and spiritual cornerstones of freedom. Survival Strategies For Africans in America is comprised of 13 Steps, that lead us from a level of self-awareness to self-determination. Steps 1 through 5 relate to the African Mind; Steps 6 through 9 reference the African Body; and Steps 10 through 13 discuss aspects of the African Soul. The methodology allows for the complete integration of the 13 Steps so that the newly developed consciousness will lead to Freedom. By following these steps we will ultimately enter into the realm of self-empowerment and personal well being.
